Peggy Nell Yates Creel

May 4, 1946 - October 8, 2022

Peggy Nell Yates Creel, age 76 and of Thomas, LA, passed away on October 8, 2022. She was born in Columbia, MS to Joseph and Ruby Yates.  She was a dedicated member of the church.  She worked as a sitter to elderly patients with dementia.

She loved to give to others and had a kind heart. Peggy lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed gardening, family, friends, casino trips, cooking, and her two dogs. She loved being outside on the porch watching the hummingbirds and tending to her flowers. 

Peggy is survived by her daughter: Jacqueline (Doug) Boersema; sisters: Charlette Yates and Margi Hester; granddaughters: Christian (Jason) McKenzie, Faith (Jarred) Stockstill; grandson: Timothy Campbell; great granddaughters: Lindsey, Alexis, Lauren, Maycee, Morgan, and a grandson on the way. 

She is preceded in death by her spouse: Dick Creel; son: Allen Bedwell, Jr; mom: Ruby Yates; dad: Joseph Yates; sister: Pat Cox; brothers: Poss Yates, Horace Yates, Willie Yates and his twin baby brother.

Peggy was a beloved mother, sister, granny, and friend to many.

“When you left, you took a part of my heart with you.  It brings me comfort, knowing you are not alone.”

We will love and miss you.  Rest in Peace.
