Claireen Reeves Sipes

May 12, 1925 - August 11, 2022

Claireen Reeves Sipes, age 97 and a resident of Pine, a beloved aunt and friend, passed away Thursday afternoon August 11, 2022 surrounded by close family at her home in Pine. She was born May 12, 1925 in Ellisville, MS but attended school and was a long time resident of Chalmette, LA. Claireen was retired after a long career with K-Mart in Chalmette. She was a faithful member of The Church of Christ in Bogalusa. Claireen had a special place in her heart for her pet dog “Spot”.

Survived by: Niece and Nephew: Marie Nickel and Charles Nickel, Sr.; Great-nieces and Great-nephews: Susan and David Schliegelmeyer, Charles Nickel, Jr., Christopher and Amy Nickel, Timothy and Rebekah Nickel, Jesse Nickel, Will Nickel, Andrew and Victoria Nickel; Also numerous great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews

She was preceded in death by her son Dennis Barnes, husband William Ralph Sipes, parents Nathaniel Reeves and Emma Walker Reeves, sisters Lola Ikerd, Lois Jarrell, brothers Dazzel Reeves, Dancie Reeves, Vincent Reeves.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday August 13th from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Harold Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Musterground Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are her 6 great-nephews with Steve Lewis and Daryl Singleton serving as Honorary Pallbearers
