Bogalusa Approves Moratorium Resolution on New Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Clinics

The Bogalusa Council met Friday (August 19, 2022) morning and approved the following resolution:

The City Council of Bogalusa hereby institutes an emergency moratorium to temporarily prohibit any new outpatient substance abuse treatment clinics in the City of Bogalusa. This emergency moratorium will take effect immediately upon passage by the Council and signature by the mayor. The proposed emergency moratorium will be in place no longer than August 19th, 2022 through August 19th, 2023 in order to: 1) Give the City time to conduct a review and possible revision of its current zoning laws (Currently B1 Business and “P” Planned Commercial: uses: drugs and sundries; 2) Assist the provider with relocation in a more appropriate demographic area outside of the city.
