Shane Melton Young

January 24, 1974 - July 15, 2022

Shane Melton Young, age 48 and a resident of Franklinton, Louisiana, died Friday July 15, 2022 following an automobile accident. He was a native of New Orleans, grew up in South Carolina and spent most of his life there before returning to Louisiana in 2016. Shane worked in construction maintenance for a time before joining the crew of Maintenance Dredging a year ago. He was very proud of his “dream job” and loved his MDI co-workers and friends. Shane enjoyed being in the outdoors and spending time at the creeks and rivers near his home. He had a special place in his heart for his pet dogs Wally and Bella and his cat Frogger. Shane adored his young grandsons and loved spending time with his family.

Survived by: Wife: Tammy Young of Franklinton; Children and Spouses: Justin Young of Greenville, SC, Christopher Pizani and fiancé Kelli Adams, Alechia Taylor all of Franklinton, Samantha and Sam Cardone of New York, Joshua Jones of South Carolina; Grandsons: Shelby Taylor, Jr., Derek Adams; Mother in law: Sharon Rogers of New York; Also an aunt, many special cousins and dear friends

He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Young and step-father “Shakey”.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton, LA) on Friday July 22nd from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Friday with Bro. Derek Dantin officiaiting. Burial will follow in the Bible Baptist Church Cemetery.
