Martha Mildred Garrett Kane

October 31, 1938 - July 5, 2022

Martha Mildred Garrett Kane was born in Baton Rouge, LA to Mildred Willeana Bankston Garrett and Dannie Phillip Garrett October 31, 1938 and went home to be with The Lord July 5, 2022.

She graduated from Franklinton High School in 1956 and attended LSU. Among her many accomplishments, Martha was crowned Miss Washington Parish in 1956.

Martha was a talented businesswoman in Baton Rouge for many years. She owned Bon Marche’ Beauty Salon and a successful beauty school.

When her husband John Kane retired, they moved to Slidell, and Martha was an insurance and investment agent before her retirement.

Survivors include siblings Sylvia Dugas, Cecile Green (Jeff), David L. Garrett (Susan), Judy Ackerman and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding her in death were parents Mildred and Dannie Garrett, grandparents Leon Victor and Allie Ames Magee Bankston, Daniel and Rosa Brumfield Garrett, husband John W Kane, Jr. and brother Dannie Phillip Garrett, Jr.

A graveside service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
