Dewayne L. Tate

May 21, 1953 - April 30, 2022

Dewayne L. Tate was born to the late Doris Tate and Collis Bickham on May 21, 1953 in Bogalusa, LA.

Wayne was a member of Magee’s Temple COGIC under the leadership of Supt. Cecealins Tate. A graduate of Franklinton High School. Wayne had a passion for Mechanical Work.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memories; four children, Shiwan (Lanre) Tate Ogunfeitimi and Crystal L. Barker of Worcester, Massachusetts, Shaneeka Baker of Franklinton, LA. Kareem (Shannon) Barker of Fort Worth, TX; father, Collis Bickham; eight sisters, Warren M. Tate, Debra (Lonnie) Brock, and Jackie Tate of Franklinton, all of Franklinton, LA, Keiarra (Duane) Phillips of Houston, TX, Gaylynn Lynch, Diane Tate, Madeline Tate, and Brenda Tate all of New Orleans, LA; four brothers, Phillip Tate, Supt. Cecealins (Violet) Tate, James Tate all of Franklinton, La, and Clarence Johnson of Rialto, CA; five grandchildren, Devon Landrum, Desmond Landrum, Keyianna Barker, Jr.; one aunt, Pearl Tate of Uneedus, LA; one uncle. Robert Bickham of Franklinton, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Tate; adoptive mother, Rosia Tate; brothers, Harry T. Tate, Tyrone Tate, Curtis Tate, and one sister, Cynthia Tate.

Drive-through visitation will be held at Crain and Sons Funeral Home, Franklinton on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

The funeral service will be held at Magee’s Temple COGIC on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton has been entrusted with arrangements.
