Oliver John Jolet, Jr.

February 4, 1931 - April 21, 2022

Oliver John Jolet, Jr., age 91 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 at his residence. He was a member of Sunlight Baptist Church. He was an Air Force Veteran having served from 1948 until 1950. In 1950 he became employed with Bell South and retired after 32 years. He loved hunting and fishing, he enjoyed cooking and telling stories. He spent time watching old westerns and football.

Survived by: Son: Louis Jolet, Jr. and fiancé Bonnie Terral of Bon Wier, TX; 2 Daughters: Margaret Elaine Jolet, Melanie Forbes both of Franklinton; 7 Grandchildren: Tracy and Ricky Sprehe, Jody Hebert, Paula Hebert, Jennifer Phelps, Louis Jolet, Jr., Aaron Jolet, Tiffany and Justin Strohmeyer; Great Grandchildren: Bean Sprehe, Callie and Alex Nobles, Austin and Mallorie Wilkes, Abbey Wilkes, Destin Hebert, Breanna Hebert, Camryn Hebert, Aleia Hebert, Emilyn Hebert, Seth Hebert, Isabella Jolet, Brentlea Jolet, Abby Hoyt, Serenity Erwin, Jaelyna Erwin, Austyn Jolet, Gunner Jolet, Kaden Jolet, Hunter Jolet, Shayleigh Strohmeyer, Braelyn Strohmeyer; 4 Great great granddaughters; 1 Great great grandson; Lifelong Friends: Kliner Mathern, Ronnie Lessard; Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children Jennie Sawyer Jolet, second wife Wynona Jolet, his father Oliver J. Jolet, Sr., his mother Hilda Prince Borell, and 2 sisters Marie Verdun and JoAnn Caminita.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 5 PM until 9 PM and after 12 noon Monday. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM with Rev. Donnie Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellis Cemetery.

Masonic Service will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 6 PM.
