Barbara Ann Johnson Moore
May 4, 1945 - April 4, 2022
Barbara Ann Johnson Moore, age 76 and a resident of Albany, passed away Monday evening April 4, 2022 at the Harvest Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Denham Springs. She was a native of the Mount Hermon Community and worked for the State of Louisiana as a Nurse’s Aide for many years. Barbara proudly served the clients of Southeast Louisiana State Hospital in Mandeville and also the Hammond State School. She later worked for several years with the Louisiana Forestry Department. Barbara loved tending to her beautiful flower garden and working in her yard. She was an excellent cook and liked to host her family for big Sunday dinners and other get-togethers. Barbara always enjoyed listening to her favorite gospel music and TV programs.
Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Susan and Geoffrey Strahan of Albany; Son and Daughter in law: Charles Ray and Kim Lanford of Baton Rouge; Grandsons and Spouses: Nicholas and Brittany Strahan, Tristan and Julie Strahan; 4 Great-grandsons: Eli, Rowan, Westan, Lincoln; Sister: Brenda Rogers of Hammond; Also numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband James Moore, parents Lucius “Bobby” Johnson and Orie Miller Johnson, a brother Bobby Earl Miller and grandmother Era Miller.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Thursday April 7th from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Thursday with Rev. Jerry Barber, Rev. Todd Vickery and Rev. Darryl Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
