Jarvis Tramaine Williams

January 8, 1977 - April 7, 2022

On January 8, 1977, Jarivis Tramaine Williams was born to Tammy Williams and Kevin Martin in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Jarvis was raised and educated in Bogalusa, Louisiana, graduating from Bogalusa High School in 1995. While in high school, he was proud member of the Lumberjack Football and Baseball teams. After graduation, Jarvis attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Jarvis was introduced to Christ at an early age, joining Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Alphonso S. Nelson. Through the years, he served, in many capacities including the Youth Choir. A lifetime member, he remained faithful under the leadership of Dr. Byron Muse. Jarvis was an active member of the Usher Board, Evangelism Ministry, and Deacons Board. He held leadership positions as the Secretary of Wednesday Night Bible Study and President of the Brotherhood. Jarvis could also be found ushering with the ushers of the Second Spring Hill District Association. He enjoyed serving in the Kingdom of God and helping others. He truly had a heart for God and God’s people.

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, God called Jarvis from labor to eternal rest. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Tammy Williams Sartin of Bogalusa, LA; one sister, Tanethia (Maize Jr.) Warren of Slidell, LA; two brothers, Edward (Briuna) Sartin, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA, and Jaworski Sartin of Denham Springs, LA; a stepbrother, Clayton Lundy of Baton Rouge, LA; a grandfather, Nuel Martin of Kingsport, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Kevin Martin; stepfather, Rev. Edward Sartin, Sr.; grandmothers, Sarah Carter, Doris Hill, and Orastine Sartin; a grandfather, Attie Sartin; an aunt, Evelyn Adams; and three uncles John Hill, Lovell Sartin, and Duane Sartin.

Drive-thru visitation will be held at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

The funeral service will be held at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. with Rev. Dr. Byron Muse, Pastor - Officiating.  Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa has been entrusted with arrangements.
