Nina Marie Brock

October 1, 1981 - March 15, 2022

Mrs. Nina Marie Bates, born October 1, 1981, to Ms. Shirley Bates, and Mr. Joe L. Peters, in McComb, MS. Attended and graduated from Varnado High School. Joined and attended Wesley Ray Methodist Church at a young age. Met and married the love of her life, Mr. Jessie Brock, on March 13, 2013. They by each other’s side for 20 years.

Nina was a well known babysitter and helper for Quick Shop groceries, where she met and made life long friends. Everyone knew her best for her love of kids and beautiful smile that she always greeted you with.

She leaves to mourn her husband, Mr. Jessie Brock; two sisters, Tara Y. Bates of Bogalusa, LA, and Lilyel Bates of Baton Rouge, LA; a God daughter, Keyonna Lee; three special nieces, Torrianna T. Brock of Dallas, TX, and Nicole Knox and Kenneisha R. Lewis both of Bogalusa, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, and friends.

Nina is preceded in death by her parents, Ms. Shirley Bates and Mr. Joe L. Peters; maternal grandmother and grandfather, Lillie Mae Thompson Bates and James Bates; Paternal grandparents, Fannie Velma Marks and Lonnie Peters; mother-in-law, and father-in-law, Colean and Moses Brock; brother-in-law, M.L. Brock; and a niece, Beyonca Brock
