William Lavel "Bill" Knight

June 12, 1944 - March 5, 2022

William Lavel "Bill" Knight, age 77 and a longtime resident of Nesbit, Mississippi, died Saturday afternoon March 5, 2022 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven, MS after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Bogalusa born on June 12, 1944 and later graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1963. Bill enjoyed working in his yard and traveling, even visiting his sister on the west coast often. He always loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survived by: 2 Daughters: Krystal Knight Lance, Angella Knight both of Missouri; Son: Jeffery Knight of Missouri; 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren; 2 Sisters and a Brother in law: Bertha Knight Charlton, Anita Crain Boeke and Todd Boeke all of Denham Springs; Brother: Lavel Ray Knight of Franklinton; Lifelong Friends: Terry Crain, Wayne Knight; Special Friend and Neighbor: David Anchondo and his family; Also several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his father Lavel Knight, mother and step-father Elgie Vince Crain and Hubert Crain, brother Ronnie Crain, brother in law Orvell Charlton, nephew Kristofer “Shane” Robinson.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton, LA) on Saturday March 12th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm with Rev. Chad Jenkins officiating. A private burial will follow in the Pine Community Cemetery.
