Frankie Lee Burrell

May 10, 1932 - March 23, 2022

Frankie Lee Burrell was born on May 10, 1932, to the late Willie Mae & Morris Johnson and J.C. Brown in Hackley, LA.

She was united in holy matrimony for 49 years to the late Willie Burrell.  To that union five children were born.  She was the true definition of a nurturer and played an integral role in the molding and upbringing of many children. 

On Wednesday, March 23, 2022, The Lord said, “A job well done my good and faithful servant”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters, brother, 2 daughters, 3 nephews and 1 niece.

She leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories and a lasting legacy, her loving and devoted children, Earnest, Rosalie, Richard, Anna Burrell, Sheryl (Nazeeh) Muwwakkil, and Mary Hawthorne,  special granddaughters whom she raised: Tina (Victor) Adams and Jeanine (Elliott) Washington, brother Jim Guynes,  nieces and nephews: Marilyn (Bobby) Youngblood, Gregory Brown,  Albert & Dennis Kilbourne, Shondra Causey, Bobby (Teekia) Youngblood II, and Marderia (Don) Roe, her grandchildren, Anthony (Shirley), James, Alan, and Katrina Hawthorne, and Valarie (Micah)Berry,  great grandchildren, Tatyana (Brent) Tate, Xavier Adams, Jerniya Williams, Ellysia and Emeri Washington, great-great grandchildren, Blaise & Braive Tate, Godchild Vadalia Dixon, children whom she reared: Christy Montgomery, Brandy Kilbourne, Billy Dixon, Stanley Wilks, Derrick Bell, Joey & Reginald Henry, Donna Yarbrough, Crystal Bickham, Darrin Williams, Steven & Charles Franklin,  Jamarian Brice, and Halle Morris and host of others.

Drive thru viewing will be Friday, April 1 from 4pm – 7pm at Crain and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 2, 11 am at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church, Bogalusa, LA. Interment at the Robinson Cemetery, Varnado, LA.
