Huey Lesh Thompson

June 8, 1936 - March 5, 2022

Huey Lesh Thompson, age 85 and a resident of Pine, went to his eternal resting place Saturday evening March 5, 2022 at his home. He was retired after a career as a pipe welder and was a member of the Local 60 Plumbers Union. Huey was a longtime active member of Pine First Baptist Church that loved helping his community and those in need. He worked with the Campers on Mission group that traveled to different parishes making repairs and preparing the children’s camp facilities and grounds. Huey also spent 2 weeks of mission work on Guadalupe Island repairing buildings and for 5 years served along the Mississippi Gulf Coast following the destruction of Hurricane Katrina. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. Huey was always a loving husband, father and grandfather that loved spending time with his family.

Survived by: Wife: Jeanette Breland Thompson of Pine; Son and Daughter in law: Lonnie and Kathy Thompson of Covington; Grandchildren: Caleb Thompson, Grace Thompson, Brent Calcagno, Lauren Rich; Great-grandchildren: Grayson Bowman, James Rich, Ruby Rich; Brothers: Cecil Thompson of Austin, TX, Tommy Thompson of Tickfaw, Kenny Thompson of Ponchatoula; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents Luther Thompson and Gladys Johnson Thompson, 3 brothers B.J. Thompson, Donald Thompson, Luke Thompson.

Visitation will be at Pine First Baptist Church (27043 Hwy. 62, Franklinton) on Tuesday March 8th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Tuesday with Rev. David Easterling and Rev. Jerry Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
