Obituary

Lorenz "Randy" Youngblood

February 2, 1960 - March 2, 2022

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away.”    Revelation 21:4

Bro. Lorenz “Randy” Youngblood was born on February 2, 1960 to the late Clyde Youngblood, Sr. and Pearlie Mae Weary Youngblood in Bogalusa, La.  He was the fourteenth child born of 17 children.  He departed this life on March 2, 2022 in Angie, LA, at the age of 62 years old.

Randy united with the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Dexter, LA. at an early age.

Randy was a very kind and loving person and was a great help too many that needed him.  Randy took pride in whatever task or job you needed or asked him to do.  Randy worked as a logger for many years and could do just about anything.  His last job was landscaping and he talked about it all the time and how he really enjoyed it.

After his sister Pearlie Jean passed away, his sister Doris along with D. D. stepped in to look after him to make sure that he would be taken care of.  When Randy needed something he always counted on D.D. to make it happen “as he would always tell her you are over me” and for that he always told her that he loved her when he called and whenever he was in her presence before leaving.  Randy always thanked D.D. for taking care of him and giving him a place to live, a place that he could call his own.  Although, D.D. gave him a place to live he had a few places that he could go and stay when he didn’t stay at his place of residence and was welcomed.  Randy was loved by many, especially his family as well as D.D. and her family.  Randy loved and cared for people especially the ones that were in his circle “his boys” and you know who you are.

Randy was a father figure to his nieces and nephews, and he loved them dearly,

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Kiandra “Ke Ke” (Brandon Hicks) Blackwell, of Hammond, LA;  (2 ) grandchildren: Raelynn D. Blackwell and Brooklyn B. Hicks;  four sisters:  Doris (William) Dillon and Mae Von Dexter of Angie, LA;  Ola Mae Youngblood and Jerrie Youngblood of Bogalusa, LA  three brothers:  Evon Youngblood, Alicee Youngblood, and Ray Charles Youngblood all of Angie, LA;   a special friend:  Candy Stringer;  and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Youngblood, Sr. and Pearlie Mae Weary-Youngblood; (4) sisters and (3) brothers.

The Funeral will be at 11:00 AM on March 12, 2022 at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
