Obituary

Betty Jean Schilling Pittman

May 19, 1933 - February 8, 2022

Betty Jean Schilling Pittman completed her journey through this mortal life February 8, 2022 at her home with family at her side. She is now living her best life with her Lord Jesus, and she is, without a doubt, enjoying happy reunions. Betty was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother and grandmother, and to many in her community, she was known as “Aunt Bette”. She nursed and cared for others for decades until her retirement, and was always beloved by the many Sunday School students that were blessed enough to have her as their teacher and role model.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Nevels “Pete” Pittman, her parents: Milton and Edna Schilling, and her brother, Milton “Mickey” Schilling.

She is survived by her son, Winford “Win” (Judy) Pittman, and their four children: Windy (Keith) Toney, Wayne (Crystal) Pittman, Tera (Darren) Taylor, Caylon Pittman; Great-grands: Juliah, Aaron, Emily, Leah, Reagan, Layken, Jordan, Aiden, Eliska and Gabby; Great-great grands: Sam and Lukas; Daughter: Jalon (Carl) Beech; Sister: Claudete (Charles) Sumrall; Betty dearly loved her nephews and nieces and all of her family. She will be sorely missed. Until we meet again...

Services will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church on February 10, 2022. Visitation will be from  9:30 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:30 AM.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
