McComb, MS. Woman Booked on Identity Theft & CC Fraud Charges

The Pike County Sheriff's Office reports that Cayla Lawrence, age 37 and of McComb, was located on Monday (February 7, 2022) and booked on the charges of Felony Identity Theft and Credit Card Fraud.

The incident began on January 18, 2022 with a report that a victim’s social security benefits and banking address had been changed to a different address. The suspect then stole the victim’s money from the account. An investigation identified Cayla Lawrence as the suspect and she was located at the Economy Inn in McComb. 

During Lawrence’s arrest, officers found two (2) forged checks that belonged to the victim. 

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
