Former St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy Arrested for Simple Battery

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Captain Lance Vitter has advised that Daniel Boyet, a former deputy who worked at the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center was arrested today (February 10, 2022) and issued a summons for simple battery, stemming from an incident that occurred on January 30, 2022 at the Correctional Center.

Boyet, who was a 2 year STPSO employee Correctional Center, was terminated after an investigation determined he had committed a crime involving an inmate. 

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith stated, “This administration has shown over and over that we do not condone unethical or criminal activity by an employee and uncalled behavior like this will never be acceptable. We will not tolerate it and anyone, who does not exhibit the professionalism and ethics expected of them as a sworn deputy, will be dealt with appropriately.”
