Douglas Thomas

March 10, 1935 - January 27, 2022

Douglas Thomas, age 86 and a resident of Thomas, died peacefully January 27th at home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 10, 1935, to Commodore and Marie Thomas at their home. Douglas grew up in Thomas where he attended Thomas High School. He later worked at Thomas School in Maintenance Personnel. He then worked and retired from the Parish Government. We all know in his later years he raked leaves and worked in his yard every day.

He is survived by daughters Kimberly Thomas Jones and Ginger Thomas Cudd (Charles), granddaughter Kelsi Jones, stepdaughter Pamela McKenzie and children Kandace McKenzie (Derrick), TroyAnn Ard (Hanson), step-grandchildren Cara and Colin Cudd, and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Commodore Thomas, mother Marie Ard Thomas, wife Christine Thomas, brothers Simon Thomas, Dewey Thomas and Philip Ray Thomas, sisters Elizabeth Thomas, Waver Jordan and Isabel Hayman.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Saturday January 29th from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 pm with Rev. Harold Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery.
