James Ray Harry

April 30, 1939 - December 31, 2021

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8

James Ray Harry was born April 30, 1939 in Sandy Hook, Mississippi to the union of the late Mr. & Mrs. Willie Lloyd (Creasie Mae) Harry. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Jo Nell Thomas on December 21, 1991 with a loving relationship for 30 years.

James received overseas service ribbon, national defense service medal, master parachute badge, armed forces expeditionary medal, Vietnam jump wings, combat infantry badge, Vietnam service medal, bronze star medal, 1st oak leaf cluster, 1 with V Device, army commendation medal, Vietnam cross of Gallantry with Palm, Meritorious unit citation, and Vietnam civil.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Jo Nell Harry of Bogalusa, Louisiana; two daughters, Antoinette Magee, Jasmine Brown of Bogalusa, Louisiana; two sons, Jacque Thomas of New Orleans, Louisiana, Tony Harris II of Bogalusa, Louisiana; one brother, Willie Lee Harry of Bogalusa, Louisiana; two grandchildren who he raised as his own, Tony Harris II and Tyia Brown; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren of Bogalusa, Louisiana; mother-in-law, Evie Fields; sisters-in-law, a hos of nieces, nephews, cousins, all of Bogalusa, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Willie Lloyd (Creasie Mae) Harry; two brothers, Melton Harry and Willie J. Harry; a sister, Hannah Harry, and a nephew, Stephon Harry.

A Drive through viewing will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 1:00PM at the Bogalusa Cemetery with Rev. Christopher Matthews, Officiating.
