Paulette Ann Prejeant Hymel

January 12, 1949 - January 19, 2022

Paulette Ann Prejeant Hymel, age 73 and a resident of Ponchatoula, passed away Wednesday January 19, 2022 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was a former longtime resident of the Oak Grove Community near Franklinton. Paulette worked as a waitress at Middendorf’s for many years and also later worked at Wal-Mart in Covington for many years before retiring. She was the “Life of The Party” and loved dancing and celebrating with her family and friends. Paulette and her husband Charles always enjoyed playing Santa and Mrs. Claus for the St. Tammany Parish Schools and other events during the Christmas season. Bringing joy to the countless young children certainly warmed their hearts each year. Paulette adored her pet dog “Sofi” and she will be forever missed by her family and all that knew her.

Survived by: Husband of 55 years: Charles Stewart Hymel, Sr. of Ponchatoula; 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Sherry and Marty Pierre of Folsom, Roslyn Hymel of Covington; 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Charles S. Hymel, Jr. and Rhonda Hymel of Ponchatoula, Jason and Tiffany Hymel of Waldheim; 12 Grandchildren and Spouses; 8 Great-grandchildren; 2 Sisters and Brothers in law: Connie and Louis Dufourc, Bonnie and Jerry Brandt; 2 Brothers and Sisters in law: Gary and Debbie Prejeant, Wayne and Debbie Prejeant; Also numerous beloved nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by her parents Fernand Prejeant and Edith Terrebone Prejeant, sister Judy Pierce and brothers Corbett Prejeant, Jimmy Prejeant, Malcolm Prejeant, Richard Prejeant.

A memorial celebration for her family will be planned in the near future.
