Howard Latemore George

May 16, 1939 - December 4, 2021

Howard Latemore George, age 82 and a lifelong resident of the Enon Community, died Saturday December 4, 2021 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He operated Howard’s Amaco service station for many years and later in life drove 18-wheelers for different local trucking companies. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge. Howard enjoyed fishing and taking care of his chickens. He loved to watch wrestling and spend time with his family.

Survived by: 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Jeanette and Wade Clement of Enon, Debra and Steve Sylvest of Mandeville; Son: Jeff George of Enon; Grandchildren and Spouses: Joshua and Krista Harris, Jesse Harris, Jacques and Jessica Clement, Ethan George, Caleb and Haley Sylvest, Rebekah and Travis Schroder; 10 Great-grandchildren; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

He was preceded in death by his parents John George and Effie Provost George, brother James George, brother and sister in law Alonzo “Red” and Della Mae George, sisters and brothers in law Sarah and Devon Mizell, Rowena and Ruble Jenkins, Ruth and Larry Strahan.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday December 11th from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Leon Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Patrick Mizell, Maurice George, Eddie Jenkins, Byron Mizell, Cody Mizell, Lisa Ledwig
