Pete Aubrey Athey

October 27, 1955 - December 19, 2021

Pete Aubrey Athey, age 66 and a resident of the Wilmer Community, died Sunday morning December 19, 2021. He was a talented, certified TV and Electronics repair man for many years. Pete always loved to fix and repair things with his hands. He later worked for Nelson Tree Service and enjoyed learning about the trees and the proper way to trim and remove them. He served his country and community in the Louisiana Army National Guard for several years. Pete was a member of Wilmer Missionary Baptist Church that loved reading his Bible and learning about the Lord. He enjoyed listening to his favorite light classic rock music.

Survived by: Wife of 33 years: Maude Dean Randol Athey of Wilmer; Brothers and Sisters in law: Douglas and Bing Athey of New Orleans.

Mark and Melanie Athey of Baton Rouge; Sisters: Carolyn Robins, Marilyn Athey Slaven both of Franklinton; Sisters in law: Delores Genusa of Ponchatoula, Louella Brooks of Wilmer; Brother in law and Sister in law: Eli and Vickie Randol of Wilmer; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

He was preceded in death by his parents D.J. Athey and Mary Louise Barber Athey, brother David Athey, father in law and mother in law James N. Randol and Alkalene Lea Randol, brother in law William “Billy” Randol.

Visitation will be at Wilmer Missionary Baptist Church (65243 Hwy. 1061, Kentwood) on Wednesday December 22nd from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Wednesday with Eld. Richard Magee and Eld. Jason Skipper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
