Virginia Patke Hamilton

November 4, 1954 - December 2, 2021

Virginia Patke Hamilton, age 67 and a resident of Laplace, passed away Thursday December 2, 2021 after a brief illness. She was a native of Washington Parish and former longtime resident of Metairie that had lived in Laplace for the last 12 years. Ginger was a plant manager working for Fabricated Filters for 25 years. She loved traveling and riding motorcycles with her husband. Ginger liked tending to her plants and collecting unique rocks that she found. She enjoyed listening to different types of music, especially the Beatles and James Taylor, and loved swimming in her pool. Ginger loved spending time with her family and adored her sons and grandchildren.

Survived by: Husband: Allan Hamilton of Laplace; Sons and Daughters in law: Benjamin Patke of Reno, NV, Jacob King of Covington, Allan Hamilton, III and Brandi Hamilton of Walker, Joshua Lee Hamilton and Samantha Hamilton of Houston, TX; Daughter: Misty McMillan of Baton Rouge; Grandchildren: Sophia Lee Patke, Vera’Lynn Patke, Anthony Clayton Kozielski, Kayla Marie Eiffert, Jasper James King, Alyssa Miller, Jon Miller, Kylie McMillan, Chasadie’Lyn McMillan, Jacob Hamilton, Connor Hamilton; 2 Sisters and a Brother in law: Pamela Atkins of Petal, MS, Midgie and Billy Dunne of Norwalk, CT; Also numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends

She was preceded in death by her son Joshua Patke, parents Lawrence Patke and Virginia Lee Smith Patke, brother Terry Lawrence Patke and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton, LA) on Tuesday December 7th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Tuesday. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery near Franklinton.
