Leroy Anthony Barrios
July 25, 1934 - November 25, 2021
Leroy Anthony Barrios, age 87 and a resident of Thomas, died Thursday November 25, 2021 at Heritage Health Care in Hammond after a lengthy illness. He was a native and longtime resident of Lafourche Parish before moving with his wife to Washington Parish in 1979. Leroy worked as a tugboat captain for over 40 years, serving with many different companies during that time. He started working as a young man and took great pride in his job while also mentoring countless other young men in the profession, including his son. He also served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. Leroy was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church after accepting Jesus Christ as his savior later in life. He enjoyed gardening and cutting firewood and was an avid baseball fan, especially the Atlanta Braves. Leroy will be remembered fondly as an honest hardworking gentleman.

He was preceded in death by his wife Eva Orgeron Barrios, parents Elvis Barrios and Josephine Loupe Barrios, sister Louanna Barrios Bruce and an infant brother John Allen Barrios.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Saturday November 27th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and after 12:00 pm on Sunday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Keith Branch and Eld. Doyle Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to New Beginning Baptist Church (29125 Marvin Jones Road, Franklinton, LA 70438).
