John Ray Ladner

July 30, 1962 - November 22, 2021

John Ray Ladner, age 59 and a resident of Franklinton, LA, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, at the home of his brother. He had fought a good three-year fight against cancer but succumbed peacefully. He was born to Douglas and Molly Ladner on July 30, 1962.

He is survived by: His two daughters, Hannah Leigh Ladner and Sarah Louise Ladner (Michael) Ebarb and one small son, Landon Gage Ladner; John was also blessed to be survived by five wonderful grandsons, Gavin Scott Bernard, Evan Shane Bernard, Logan Wyatt Ebarb, Jonathan Jaylin Ladner and Hudson Holliday Ebarb; The mother of his children and life-long friend, Tracey Ellen Barber Ladner; Also, his mother, Molly Duncan Ladner, and three brothers, James (Charlotte) Ladner, Jimmy (Lisa) Ladner and Brandon Ladner. One sister, Janice (Larry) Wagoner. John also had numerous nephews and nieces.

John was preceded in death by his father Douglas Ladner and his beloved nephew Jim,

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and the service at 12:00 pm with interment to follow at the Maples Cemetery in Mt. Hermon, LA

John lived most of his adult life building houses for other people to enjoy and have a place to call home. He loved watching their excitement as they became new homeowners. But John’s greatest passion, after his family, was hunting. Mostly deer hunting but he also took a turn at hog, squirrel, and rabbit hunting. Even took a turn at frog hunting a couple of times.

Pallbearers will be Gavin Bernard, Josh Wagoner, Donny Ladner, Joey Philipello, Cory Buffalo, and Ronald Duncan.
