Franklin Delano "Delt" Kennedy

July 10, 1934 - November 7, 2021

Franklin Delano "Delt" Kennedy, age 87 and a resident of the Stony Point Community, died early Sunday morning November 7, 2021 at Good Samaritan Living Center after a lengthy illness. He served his country as a Military Policeman with the United States Army and was a longtime member of Stony Point Missionary Baptist Church. Delt worked off-shore for 16 years and also operated a dairy farm for many years. His passion was antiques. He and his wife traveled all over the country looking for antiques as well as setting up at trade shows where they bought and sold their unique items. Delt made countless friends at these shows and the many places they visited. He loved working in his yard, always keeping it clean and beautiful. Delt enjoyed cutting and collecting firewood and going out to eat. He was a man that loved life and he could always find the positive in any situation.

Survived by: Son and Daughter in law: Delton and Stephanie Kennedy; Daughter and Son in law: Debra Kennedy Rochester and John Rochester, III; Grandchildren and a Spouse: Tyler Kennedy, Dakota Kennedy, Victoria Kennedy, Brittney K. Blake and Patrick Blake; Great-grandchildren: Caitlin Blake, Makenna Denning, Madelyn Perez; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Barbara Bond Kennedy, granddaughter Janna Kennedy Denning, parents James Frank Kennedy and Rilla Ellis Kennedy, brother Austin Kennedy, brothers and sisters in law D.L. and Vera Kennedy, Lavon and Bonnie Kennedy, Royce and Blanca Kennedy, sister Marie Pierce, sister and brother in law Inez and Delos Crain, father in law Brantley “Pete” Bond, mother in law Thelma Passman Bond Bankston and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday November 9th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Tuesday with Eld. Everette Broome officiating. Burial will follow in the Stony Point Church Cemetery.
