Mary Nell Warren Bateman

June 30, 1933 - October 6, 2021

Mary Nell Warren Bateman, age 88 and a resident of Franklinton, died just before midnight Wednesday October 6, 2021 at her daughter’s home after a lengthy illness. She worked as a seamstress earlier in life but spent most of her life as a homemaker while taking care of her family. Mary Nell was an artist and painted many oil and watercolor paintings. She served as president of the Jaycee Janes from 1964-1965. Mary Nell always loved taking care of her family and had a special place in her heart for her pet dog “Prissy”.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Cheryl and Rick Brocato of Kentwood; Son and Daughter in law: Warren and Jackie Bateman of the Richardson Community; Grandchildren and Spouses: Jenny and Jonathan Wynn, Alison and Casey Blades, David and Jessica Brocato, Derwin Bateman, Wendy Owen, Tia Smith; 10 Great-grandchildren: Serra Seawell, Sophia Seawell, Tanner Blades, Jonah Blades, Parker Blades, Lilyana Brocato, Dallas Bateman, Bayne Robbins, Brendon Smith, Prudence Smith; Step-Great-grandchildren: Nolan Wynn, Morgan Wynn, Cooper Wynn; Brother in law and Sister in law: Burlon and Hortensia Bateman of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Ellis Ezekiel Bateman, parents Donald Warren and Doris Breeland Warren, brother and sister in law Jerry and Betty Warren, great-grandson Parish Owen and other family members.

A graveside funeral service will be held in Ellis Cemetery at 11:00 am Monday October 11th with Rev. Cecil Locke officiating.
