Obituary

William Edward "Bill" Husser, Sr.

February 10, 1941 - October 28, 2021

William Edward "Bill" Husser, Sr., age 80 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Thursday morning October 28, 2021 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in New Orleans. Bill worked off-shore for many years and at one time drove an RTA bus in New Orleans. He most recently worked as a carpenter for several years. Bill was a veteran of the United Stated Navy. He loved all types of woodworking and had a nice wood shop at his home. Bill enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with his friends and family and he was well known for his delicious homemade hot tamales.

Survived by: Wife: Alice Hebert Husser of Franklinton; Daughters and Sons in law: Becky and Chuck Guillot, Vickie and Les Bascle, Tanya Husser; Sons and a Daughter in law: William E. “Billy” Husser, Jr., Kaleb and Trista Danos; Step-children and Spouses: Lisa and Keith Varrato, Robin and Perry Thurmond, Robert and Zeita Papineau, Johnny Johnson; Siblings and Spouses: Carol and Sidney Porrier, Jay and Karen Husser; Also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Bonnie Husser and parents Albert Joseph Husser and Letefay Page Husser.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Tuesday November 2nd from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Tuesday with Rev. Chris Wheeler officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Sheridan Cemetery near his home.
