Martha Newman Wilson, age 76 and a resident of McComb, MS., passed away on September 30, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
No services will be announced at this time. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.
Martha was born in Kentwood, LA., on November 2, 1944 to the late, Johnny and Martha Ida Wall Newman.
Martha retired as a Sergeant prison guard for D.C.I. Correctional Towers and was of the Baptist faith. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed reading and sewing. She was honest , independent, strong willed and bossy. She was and amazing lady who was the rock of the family. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Travis Weems and five siblings.
She is survived by her significant other Joe Wilson, one son Justin Ratcliff, two daughters Pamela Williams and Dauwanna Mitchell (Michael), one step-daughter Kimberly Hilton, three brothers Huey Newman, Tommy Newman and Keith Newman, one sister Peggy Causey (Dan), eight grandchildren Matthew, Sarah, Rebekah, Nicholas, Frances, Trevor, Chelsey and Alex; twelve great-grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews.
