Obituaries

Edward Charles "Big Ed" Saulsberry and Janet Holland Saulsberry

September 23, 2021 and September 22, 2021

Janet left her Earthly Home on Wednesday morning September 22, 2021 with Edward joining her on Thursday evening September 23rd. We know they are together in Heaven and where they want to be, by each other’s side. Janet was born in St. Louis, Missouri April 2, 1953 and grew up in St. Bernard Parish, where she lived for many years. She was retired after a long career as a secretary with the LSU School of Dentistry. Janet enjoyed listening to her favorite 80s music and cooking for her family at birthdays and get-togethers, always trying to keep the family together. She also loved baking and often made delicious cakes.

Ed was born on March 15, 1949 in New Orleans and worked as a welder for Bergeron Welding, Avondale Shipyards and most recently at Circle T Farm Supply in Franklinton. He enjoyed woodworking and had a shop at home filled with items he made. He also enjoyed joking with his family and performed simple magic tricks to them and others he met. Ed liked to eat Hershey’s chocolate bars and there was never a dull moment with him around.

The couple has been married for 31 years and living together in Franklinton for the last 23 years. Their family describes them as a perfectly matched pair. They both enjoyed listening to Elvis music, loved the New Orleans Saints and LSU, and especially goofing off together and picking at each other and their families. They had a special place in their heart for their pet poodle “Nugget”. They were truly inseparable on Earth and now they can remain together forever, while being sadly missed by all their loved ones.
