Message from WP Government on Storm Debris

Storm Debris Pick-Up:  The Washington Parish contractor has begun debris pick-up along Washington Parish roads. Please have your foliage debris at the right of way of the road, preferably not in the ditches and, of course, not in the road. Please DO NOT put any vegetative debris in trash bags. NO TRASH BAGS WILL BE PICKED UP by the debris management company due to the fact that they have to be able to see the debris they are picking up and cannot pick up household garbage.

AmWASTE: Trucks ARE RUNNING routes in our Parish. They are delayed due to the Labor Day holiday and the extra tonnage being picked up after the storm. They are picking up today and did pick up yesterday. The Parish Government does not know the routes that will be picked up but we ask for your patience as AmWaste is doing their best to get to each of their customers in a timely fashion. 

The CHOCTAW ROAD LANDFILL IS OPEN: Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and there is no tipping fees for Washington Parish residents with proof of residency.
