An Emergency Meeting of the Franklinton Mayor and Board of Aldermen was held Friday (August 27, 2021) evening in preparation for the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.
The Mayor was authorized and did declare a State of Emergency. Two other items on the Agenda were approved. First, the Mayor was authorized to sign a 72-hour contract for street clearing in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. Second, the Mayor was authorized to sign a Public Assistance contract in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.
It was noted that the contracts would only be made if the employees of the Town was in need of assistance.
