Matthew Lee Smith

February 2, 1969 - August 13, 2021

On August 13, 2021, Mr. Matthew Lee Smith passed away at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA. He was a resident of Bogalusa, LA. He enjoyed shooting pool, loved his family, was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, and a “beast” at Phase 10. However, it was the love for God and his family he enjoyed the most.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Smith; a sister: Melissa (Baron) Desmond; four nephews: Erik Smith, Michael R. Smith, Mark Desmond, and Seth Desmond; three nieces: Whitney Smith, Alissa Desmond, and Cassidy Desmond; one great-niece: Allysse Smith; and two sister-in-laws: Sheila Smith and Carol Smith.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, Larry Smith, and two brothers, Michael Larry Smith and Marcus Lamar Smith.

Visitation will be at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana on August 17, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by a Service at State Line Cemetery in Tylertown, Mississippi.
