Cary Scott Brumfield

January 9, 1963 - August 27, 2021

Cary Scott Brumfield, age 58 and a resident of the Springhill Community died Friday August 27, 2021 at his home. He worked at Jack Brown’s as a young man and later worked in timber sales for many years. Scott was a member of Springhill Baptist Church that enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He loved mowing his grass and taking care of his property. Scott was always kind-hearted and often served his friends and neighbors by doing yard work at their homes or taking care of the needs of others, whatever that may require. He was an excellent cook and also enjoyed baking.

Survived by: Daughter: Lacy Brumfield; 2 Brothers and a Sister in law: Byron and Bronis Brumfield, Charles Brumfield and Kaye Creel all of Franklinton; Nieces and Nephew: Annette Pierre, B.J. and Kelli Brumfield; Great-nieces and nephews: Cierra and Aaron Stein, Cheyenne Pierre, Brody Brumfield, Brylie Brumfield; Great-great-nieces and nephews: Olivia, Caden, Alana; Special Friends: Phyllis and Leo Barraco; Also numerous other family members and friends

He was preceded in death by his wife Karen Westmoreland Brumfield, parents Jerry M. Brumfield and Mavis Williams Brumfield, sister in law Verdell Crain Brumfield.

Weather permitting, a graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday August 31st in the Springhill-Magee Cemetery with Rev. Leon Hickman officiating. If services are unable to be held on Tuesday, they will occur at a more appropriate time as soon as possible.
