Roderick Chapman, a resident of Kentwood, LA, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. He was born November 24, 1950 in Lake Charles, LA and was 70 years of age.
He was a 1968 graduate of Kentwood High School, and a 1972 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in History. He enjoyed reading anything, classical music, and was a hardcore Star Wars fan and definitely a Trekkie!!!! He worked at NAPA Auto Parts in Kentwood for what seemed like forever, until it closed, then worked at DS Services “Kentwood Springs” for the last 14 years.
He is survived by his nephews, Michael Kazerooni, Sr. (Larinda), Kentwood, LA and Britton Kazerooni, Sr. (Tashanna), Kentwood, LA; great nephews, Michael Kazerooni, Jr., Covington, LA and Britton Kazerooni, Jr., Kentwood, LA; great nieces, Aleshia Sandifer (April) Ponchatoula, LA, Brittany Kazerooni, Baton Rouge, LA, Julie Kazerooni, Kentwood, LA and Kirsten Kazerooni, Covington, LA; great-great-nephew, Brayden “Tre” Cohn, Baton Rouge, LA; aunts, Margaret Oliver, Kentwood, LA and Viola Smith (Paul) Brusly, LA; uncle, Tommy Lawson (Becky) Amite, LA; a host of cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Lawson; father, John Henry Chapman; sister, Julia Savoy; maternal grandparents, Tom and Gladys Lawson; uncles, Malcolm Lawson and Bobby Lawson; a special friend, Maggie Roche of New York, NY.
Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 10:00AM until Memorial Services at 11:30AM on Friday, August 27, 2021. Services conducted by Rev. Milton Kliesch.
