Warren Vernon Vallaire, Jr.

September 22, 1953 - August 12, 2021

Warren Vernon Vallaire, Jr., age 67 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away in the early morning of Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center. He was a native of New Orleans and former longtime resident of Chalmette. Warren was a member of the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board before retiring after a 30 year career. He also served as a deputy with the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office. Following the destruction of Hurricane Katrina, he worked in law enforcement in Grayson, TX for a short time before settling in Franklinton in 2006. Warren honorably served his new community as a deputy for the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office for the last 15 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Warren loved camping with his family and was a real handyman that could fix just about anything. He will be greatly missed by his family, co-workers and all who knew him.

Survived by: Wife of 47 years: Nancy Portia Vallaire of Franklinton; 2 Daughters: Elizabeth Vallaire of Franklinton, Angela Vallaire of Marrero; Grandson: Taylor Vallaire; Sister and Brother in law: Faye and Gary Gomez of Gretna; Niece: Casandra Arbo; Also numerous other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Warren Vernon Vallaire, Sr. and Freda Ellerman Vallaire, brother Peter Dorsey, father in law and mother in law Armand and Marian Portia and other family members.

A memorial service for family and friends will be planned in the near future.

Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
