Leamalie Ted Holmes

July 19, 1922 - July 24, 2021

Mr. Leamile Ted Holmes was born July 19, 1922 in Tylertown Mississippi, to the late Hollis and Lilia Henry Magee Holmes. He departed this life July 24, 2021 at this resident in Bogalusa, LA.

Mr. Ted, as everyone so fondly knew him, was a lifelong resident of Bogalusa. Everyone knew him as having a hotdog stand across the street from BHS stadium with his freshly made hamburgers and his famous donuts. 

He leaves to cherish his memories his three daughters, Amy Louise Holmes-Judkins of Louisville, KY, Ethel (Jerome) LaBostrie of Glenn Heights, TX, and Sylvia Holmes- Myers of Belzoni, MS; one son, Lattiemore (Patrica) Holmes II of Bogalusa, LA; twenty- three grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, great nieces, great great nieces, nephews, great nephews, great great nephews, cousins, and friends; two neighborhood girls that were like daughters, Melba Jean Newkirk- Demus of Los Angeles, CA, and Loretta Ratcliff- Sinclair of Newark, CA; two grandchildren they raised as their owns sons, Charlie Oneal of Bogalusa, LA, and Eric Gerrard of Baton Rouge, LA; and a longtime friend of the family who became like a son, Michael McClure of Detroit, MI.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Jones in 1994; his second wife, Nercille Morris in 2010; three children, Elton Jean in 1984, Hollis Lee in 2008, and Leamalie :Ted Jr." in 2011.

Drive through viewing will be Thursday, August 5, at Crain & Sons Funeral Home from 4pm- 6pm. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 6 at Crain & Sons Funeral Home at 2pm with the Rev. Raymond Mims officiating 

Interment will be at Bogalusa Cemetery.
