Michelle Treschwig with the CPA firm of Kushner LaGraize, LLC presented the 2020 Audit Report to the Washington Parish Council at their meeting Monday (July 12, 2021) evening (see the video beginning at 1:35). The report resulted in a “clear” or “unmodified opinion”, the best!
Highlights of the report include
- the Parish's net position increased by $3.7 million
- the Parish's General Fund has improved from a 2012 balance of $92 to a balance of $1,8 million at the end of 2020
- the Parish's debt has turned around from a debt in 2012 of $7.2 million to the Parish being debt-free today
Parish Librarian Al Barron provided a report regarding the Summer Reading program and funding received to expand wi-fi to areas of the parish where wi-fi is lacking.
The Council approved a resolution to submit to the federal Off-System Bridge Replacement Program priority list for 2021-2013 and heard a report from Parish President Richard Thomas and his staff (see video beginning at 14:25)
