Yancy Chain

October 27, 1952 - July 19, 2021

Yancy Chain, age 68 and a resident of Mount Hermon, died Monday July 19, 2021 at his home. He was a United States Army veteran and a longtime truck driver. Yancy drove cross-country for many years with Sandifer’s Trucking and other companies. He also worked as a self-employed mechanic for over 30 years. Yancy loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles and fishing.

Survived by: Wife of 43 years: Susan McClendon Chain of Mt. Hermon; 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Lawrence and Lynette Chain of Franklinton, John and Lisa Chain of Thomas; 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Tonya Bean of Gulfport, MS, Letitia and Junior Stinson of Jayess, MS; 8 Grandchildren; 13 Great-grandchildren; 5 Brothers: Danny Chain, Michael Chain, Ricky Chain, Glen Chain, Billy Bonin; Sisters in law and a Brother in law: Ginger Whorton, Joan Williams, Glenn McClendon; Also numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father Jerry and Pappy Mitchell, brother Arthur Chain, sisters Kathy Chain, Mae Walters, father in law and mother in law Jerry and Bobbie McClendon.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday July 22nd from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Thursday with Bro. Bobby Story officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hermon Cemetery with military honors rendered by American Legion Post #24.
