Judith D. Fazekas

February 12, 1945 - June 30, 2021

Judith D. Fazekas, age 76 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Wednesday evening June 30, 2021. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 12, 1945 and raised there until young adulthood. Judie was always proud to say that she grew up in Atlanta. She later obtained a Psychology degree from Georgia State University. Judie worked as a pre-surgery counselor for cardiac patients at Georgia Baptist Hospital and later worked at Ochsner Medical Center after moving to Louisiana with her husband. The couple then lived in New Jersey where she worked in real estate and retail sales. Judie was retired after moving to Washington Parish in 1995. She loved being in the beautiful outdoors and enjoyed just viewing and listening to nature. Judie was an animal lover and had parakeets and many special pets through the years including her Toy Poodle “Cheerio” and Papillon “Daisy”. Judie enjoyed listening to her favorite music every day and spending quality time with her family.

Survived by: Husband of 48 years: Charles Wayne Fazekas of Franklinton; Daughter: Holly Ann Fazekas of Folsom; Grandson: Luke Kevin Fazekas; Sister and Brother in law: Joyce and Gary Shaw of St. Charles, MO; Sister in law and Brother in law: Diane and Charles Ray Smith of Mt. Hermon; Nephews and a Niece: Ed Houk, Wayne Houk, Carla Houk Barrie; Also numerous other family members and friends

She was preceded in death recently by her son Jason Charles Fazekas, son Kevin Wayne Fazekas, parents Carlos Dick and Helen Williamson Dick, father in law and mother in law Charles and Irene Fazekas.

A memorial service for her family and friends will be planned at a later date.
