STPSO and P&P Arrests 4 on Drug, Firearms, and Cruelty to Animals Charges

Four individuals were arrested on June 9, 2021 after St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's deputies assisted Louisiana Probation and Parole agents with an investigation at a residence in the 19000 block of Wymer Road near Covington. Detectives with the STPSO Narcotics Division were called to assist after Probation and Parole agents observed narcotics while at the residence of Scott Williams. 

During their investigation, STPSO detectives seized approximately 96.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine, which has an estimated street value of $7,728; 3.2 grams of suspected marijuana; 8.9 grams of cocaine; 3.2 grams of marijuana; one handgun with an extended magazine; and assorted drug paraphernalia. Detectives also discovered two dogs that were malnourished on the property. The dogs were turned over to St. Tammany Parish Animal Control.

Arrested were

  • Scott Williams (age 35 and of Covington) on the charges of Possession of Methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, Possession of Cocaine with the intent to Distribute, Cruelty to Animals (2 Counts), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • William Cox (age 36) and Rebecca Cox (age 35), who were found to be living in a mobile home on the property, on the charges of Possession of Methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, Cruelty to animals (2 Counts), and Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Dennis Hamby (age 53 and of Kentwood) on the charges of Possession of Methamphetamine with the intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine with the intent to Distribute, Possession of a firearm by persons convicted of certain felonies, Illegal possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
