Louis Patrick Smith

December 21, 1953 - May 30, 2021

Louis Patrick Smith was born December 21, 1953 to Robert and Mary Louise Dunn Smith.  He departed his life on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at his residence in Bogalusa.  He was a life-long residence of Varnado/Angie Community. 

Patrick was a proud 1981 graduate of Varnado High School.  He enjoyed school and was always the life of the party, especially with his classmates.

Patrick was united in Holy Matrimony to Verneda Fland Smith.  To that union, one daughter was born, LaDarricka Smith. 

Patrick was employed with the family’s trucking business, Smith & Son’s trucking for many years.  He was a dedicated and devoted truck driver who loved truck driving dearly. 

He leaves to cherish his promises two daughters, Aungelle Williams of Baton Rouge, LaDarricka Smith of Hammond, La;  His parents, Robert and Mary Louise Smith of Varnado, LA; two sisters, Evelyn Weary and Brenda Smith also of Varnado, La; three grandchildren, Amyah Williams, Ahmaj Williams and King Lawrence of Baton Rouge, La; aunts, Ellen (Richard) Matthews, Jerry (Rudolph) Thompson of Houston, Tx., Eddie M. Bickham of Columbia, Ms. Celeste Mae Myers of Oregon; uncles, Billy Wayne (Rena) Robinson, of Houston, Tx., and Charles Earl Robinson of Chicago, Ill., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Patrick also leaves a host of special friends that were like brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Gustavious Smith; maternal grandparents, Nancy (Charlie) Richards, Johnnie Robinson and Lorenzo Hunter; fraternal grandparents, Tina and Charlie Smith, aunts and uncles.

Drive through viewing on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 4:00pm-7:00pm.

Funeral service will be 11:00am, Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Mary’s Chapel UMC, Varnado, LA., Rev. Terrence August, Pastor, Rev. Nolan Robinson, officiating. Interment-Robinson Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons, Bogalusa in charge of arrangements.
