Donald Ray Magee, Sr.

December 17, 1945 - June 25, 2021

Donald Ray Magee, Sr. was born December 17, 1945, in Bogalusa, LA to the late Curtis Magee and Ruby (Anthony) Magee.  He departed this life on Friday, June 25, 2021 in Slidell, LA.

Donald attended Thirkield United Methodist Church in Bogalusa, LA.

He graduated from Central Memorial High School and worked for the City of Bogalusa for 28 years.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Esther Lee Jackson Magee of Bogalusa, LA., two sons: Michael Jackson of Angie, LA., Donald Ray Magee Jr. of Bogalusa, LA.; siblings: Royan Magee of Tider, Oregan, Phyllis Magee Owens of New Orleans, LA., Barbara Magee of Bogalusa, Gary Magee of Bogalusa, LA., Shirley Ann Anthony of Bogalusa, LA., and Robert Magee of Franklinton, LA.; brothers-in-law: Joseph (Linda) Holmes, Jr. of Pearl River, LA., Larry Holmes, Walter Lee Holmes, Samuel Holmes, and Oscar(Debra) Holmes of Angie, LA.; sisters-in-law: Tina Irene Holmes of Houston, TX., Ethel Holmes and Linda Holmes of Bogalusa, LA., Edwina (Harold) Marks of Angie, LA., 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Donald is preceded in death by Jaree Doris Buckley, Jeanete Magee Dawson, Mary Lee Magee, Donna Anthony, and in-laws: Jerry Ann Holmes and Brenda Holmes.

Visitation will be held at Thirkield United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 12pm – 2pm, the funeral service to follow at 2pm with the Rev. Nolan Robinson officiating. Interment will be at the Bogalusa Cemetery.
