Robert Milson "Bob" Smith, age 75 and a resident of Hammond, died Thursday evening June 10, 2021 following a motorcycle accident as he returned home from work. He was a native and former longtime well-known resident of Mount Hermon. Bob attended Mt. Hermon School and was voted “Mr. Mount Hermon” during his senior year. He later began a career as a car salesman, working for many years at Bill Hood Chevrolet in Amite and Magee Autoplex in Franklinton. He was currently employed with Circle A Hardware in Springfield.

Bob was always full of life and he enjoyed visiting with the people he met every day. He loved telling stories, especially the funny ones, as he loved to make others laugh. He loved spending time in the water, either in the family swimming pool or boat riding on the Tchefuncte River. Bob had a love for old cars, especially Chevrolets and he had several Chavelles and Corvettes through the years. He also enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and went on many long road trips with his brother in law Michael. Bob always enjoyed dancing and having a good time at parties and weddings.
