Johanna Taylor Heap

January 9, 1945 - June 25, 2021

Johanna Taylor Heap, age 76 and a resident of Franklinton died early Friday morning June 25, 2021 at her home. She was born and raised in Washington Parish and had lived in Mandeville, Baton Rouge and more recently in Chipola, LA in St. Helena Parish, where she and her late husband had a piece of property that she loved to spend time on. Johanna loved being in the outdoors, often spending time on her patio or porch viewing and listening to the beautiful nature that surrounded her. She also loved traveling to the western United States to see the variety of gorgeous landscapes. After a highly successful career, she retired from the State of Louisiana as Associate Administrator of Southeast Louisiana State Hospital. Johanna then worked alongside her husband in real estate development in Baton Rouge, before retiring fully in 2004.

Survived by: Son and Daughter in law: Brent and Mia Taylor; Grandson and Spouse: Christopher and Katie Taylor; Step-children: Casey and Elizabeth Heap; Siblings and Spouses: Janella Chatellier, Eld. Lavon and Pat Taylor, Virginia Barth, Peggy and Larry Fischer; Also numerous beloved nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Heap, parents Marion and Lillie Mae Taylor, sisters Patricia Harrison, Dorothy McClain, brother Everett Taylor.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton, LA) Monday July 5th from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Monday. Burial will follow in the Darlington United Methodist Church Cemetery in Chipola.
