Eddie was born September 16, 1936 in Mississippi and spent his early years in North Little Rock, AR .  As a young man, Eddie excelled to be one of the top athletes in the state of Arkansas.  He was an outstanding football player and track star.

Afterwards, he would move his young family to Kansas City, MO.  He would work in the recreational field of community services, including the development of youth and programs for seniors for over 40 years in the Kansas City area and retired in 2007.  In 2007, Eddie and Clara moved to Franklinton, LA .

Eddie was a devoted deacon at both Christ Temple Church in Kansas City, KS and Bethel Church of Christ Holiness USA in Franklinton, LA for over 50 years.  He was honored with the “Man Of The Year” award in 1988 for outstanding service to his Local Church, District, Diocese and National Convention.

Eddie was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing anytime.  He was a member of the KC Swingers and the Spring Gang while living in Kansas City.  He was instrumental in starting the Ross Golf Classic, held in Franklinton during the Artis & Emma Harvey Family Reunion.
