Zelia Jenkins Parker

November 26, 1929 - June 23, 2021

Zelia Jenkins Parker, age 91 and a resident of the Enon Community, passed away Wednesday night June 23, 2021 at Good Samaritan Living Center. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church that often made wreaths and table decorations for church gatherings. Zelia enjoyed sewing and crocheting and making different types of crafts. She was retired after a long career as a secretary for Sumrall Electric in Bogalusa. Zelia was an excellent cook, especially her delicious dressing and chicken ‘n dumplins.

Survived by: 3 Daughters and Sons in law: Connie Parker of Enon, Sharlene and Ronnie Alexis of Flagstaff, AZ, Darlene and James Taylor of Bush; 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Gary and Jean Parker, Kendall and Brenda Parker all of Franklinton; 3 Grandchildren and a Spouse: Jeffery Parker, John David Parker, Ashley and Justin Thomas; 3 Great-grandchildren: Lexie Williams, Madison Thomas, Parker Thomas; Sister: Clara Faye Turner of Isabel; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Berry Parker, Jr., parents Dewey Jenkins and Gertrude Adams Jenkins, sister Wanda Blackwell.

Visitation will be at Springhill Baptist Church (47239 Hwy. 1072, Franklinton) Saturday June 26th from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 3:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Daniel Barber officiating. Burial will follow in the Springhill-Magee Cemetery.
