Bogalusa Council Meeting on Tuesday, June 1st

Dustin Fortenberry with Amwaste appeared before the Council to provide an update on services
provided to the City and answered questions from Council Members Kates and Irvin. Later in the meeting, Mayor Perrette said they are working closely with Amwaste and will be providing trash collection information to residents on the back of water bills.

In addition, the Council

  • approved a Resolution to designate the Bogalusa Daily News as Official Journal
  • introduced two Ordinance that will be discussed and voted on at the next meeting on June 15, 2021. The first ordinance authorizes the Mayor to enter into a contract with Transformyx Technology Architects for Samsara Vehicle Telematics. (This is a GPS system for public works). The second ordinance authorizes the Mayor to enter into an Application and Services Agreement with iWorQ.

Mayor Wendy Perrette spoke about the “wonderful” Memorial Day program at Ponemah Cemetery, street issues that will be addressed (the City has 121 miles of streets), capital outlay needs that she will be bringing forward, and provided more information regarding the two ordinances that were introduced.
