Betty Rose Ladner Phillips

May 14, 1932 - May 29, 2021

Betty Rose Ladner Phillips, age 89 and a resident of Tylertown, Mississippi went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday afternoon May 29, 2021. She was a member of Pine Missionary Baptist Church who loved the Lord and her church family. Betty was a pastor’s wife to the truest sense as she served churches alongside her late husband of 63 years Eld. Ted Phillips. Together they served the Lord at Acy’s Creek, Poplarhead, Central, Star Hill and most recently at San Pedro and Saul Street Missionary Baptist Churches. They were honored to serve at Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Franklinton for 37 years and were a blessing to so many families. Betty loved working in her flower beds and vegetable garden. She enjoyed visiting the Smokey Mountains nearly every year. Betty liked to collect statues and small items of butterflies, frogs and chickens. She was always a loving wife, mother and grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survived by: 2 Daughters: Kathy Phillips of McComb, Vickie Phillips of Tylertown; Daughter in law: Barbara Phillips of Franklinton; Grandchildren and Spouses: Keith and Windy Toney, Keitha and David Newton, Kelli and Jason Miller, Mark Bennett, Jennifer McCain, Ray McCain, Daphne McCain, Shellye and Ernie Corkern, Jason and Sharon Phillips; Great-grandchildren: Juliah, Aaron, Emily, Leah, Savannah and Donovan, Amber, Abby, Alora, Caylix, Caylin, Carlie, Canda, Trevor, Mason, Sidney, Cade, Jaden; Great-great-grandchildren: Wilder, Nolan, Kyndall, Kyler; Sisters and a Brother in law: Margaret Rawls, Delores and Bobby Luper; Brothers and Sisters in law: Evon Ladner, Bruce and Gayle Ladner, David and Dianna Ladner; 2 special friends that she loved as her own: Judith Stewart, Jackie McBeth; Also numerous beloved nieces and nephews

She was also preceded in death by her son Sidney Phillips, daughter Nelda Phillips, parents L.D. Ladner and Cascelia Bell Ladner, a sister Katherine Breland, brothers Douglas Ladner, Charles Ladner, Conrad Ladner

Visitation will be at Pine Missionary Baptist Church (27098 Hwy 62, Franklinton) on Tuesday June 1st from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 12:00 pm Tuesday with Eld. Adam Luper and Eld. Billy Reyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Nobles Cemetery.
