Enhanced Risk for Severe Weather

After 12:00 PM today, an Enhanced Risk (level 3 of 5) of severe weather is forecast for Pascagoula to Baton Rouge northward, Slight Risk (Level 2) for Metro NOLA westward, and Marginal Risk (Level 1) coastal SE Louisiana. The main threat is damaging winds with hail and tornados possible. A Flash Flood Watch is also in effect until 1 AM CDT Wednesday morning for much of S MS and portions of SE LA north of a Slidell to Bayou Sorrel. Rainfall through Wednesday night could total 2 to 4 inches in the watch area with most falling this afternoon/ tonight.
